Research shows optimism about job creation

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has reported that private sector employers are becoming increasingly optimistic about job creation, the REC's February JobsOutlook reveals one in four companies is expecting to hire more permanent staff in 2011.

The REC’s February survey shows that 94 per cent of employers said they plan to either increase or keep their permanent staff at the same levels. Eighty six per cent of employers surveyed also plan to either keep the same level or increase their use of agency staff.

Over the longer term, 35 per cent plan to increase their temporary workforce compared to 22 per cent a year ago, said Roger Tweedy, the REC’s Director of Research.
